In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 49 of the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003), the Central Government hereby appoints, with effect from the 1st day of July, 2005, the Director, Financial Intelligence Unit, India, under the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, as the Director to exercise the exclusive powers conferred under clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 12 and its proviso, section 13, sub-section (2) of section 26 and sub-section (1) of section 50 of the said Act and the said Director, Financial Intelligence Unit, India, shall also concurrently exercise powers conferred by sub-section (3) and sub-section (5) of section 26, section 39, section 40, section 41, section 42, section 48, sub-section (2) of section 49, section 66 and section 69 of the afore-said Act."
